Boots Expanding in Kenilworth 01/06/2011

Boots is refurbishing and extending its unit, and its stay in Kenilworth, having agreed a new lease at Talisman shopping centre.

The UK’s leading pharmacy-led health and beauty retailer, which is a member of international health and beauty group Alliance Boots, has signed a ten-year deal to stay at its current unit which is also be refurbished. 

The refurbishment and conversion work to extend the ground floor of Boots’ unit to around 4,475 sq ft is due to get underway in early July and involves bringing the store entrance forward.

The work is due to be completed in November and Boots will continue to trade throughout this period.

Hugo Hawkings, chief executive of the site developers Discovery Properties, said: “It is great news Boots will continue to be in the heart of Kenilworth for many years to come, and is indeed building on its presence in the town.

“Conversion work will be getting underway very shortly and we are pleased to announce we expect there to be no disruption to trading as the work is carried out.

“Boots is a leading retailer and has long been a vital part of shopping in Kenilworth and we are delighted they will continue to be with us at Talisman.

“We have a mix of leading high street stores and local retailers here and continue to invest heavily in the development of the shopping centre and we will be announcing further developments taking place at Talisman very shortly.”
 
Boots, which has more than 2,400 stores and 55,000 staff across the UK, is joined by other major retailers such as Waitrose, WHSmith, Costa Coffee and Dolland & Aitchison at Talisman in Kenilworth.
