Commercial agents Wareing & Company have just let 26,000 sq ft of the Iceni Building at Warwick Technology Park to Rolls Royce.

That deal reached Wareing & Company’s half century of lettings or sales to well known companies, who have now made mid Warwickshire their home.

And that is on top of other major deals the company has done in the past decade as well as a host of smaller companies it has helped established.

Bill Wareing, managing director of Wareing & Company, said: “It is pleasing to bring up the half century with a world famous brand such as Rolls Royce.

“It is rewarding to see many of the businesses we have helped to attract here, go on and thrive – as well as extremely good for the regional economy.

“In these difficult economic times, it is good to see that the Warwick District remains a resilient location and is still in demand from a wide range of sectors.

“But it  essential for County and District Councils, as well as private sector developers and land and property owners, to be as flexible as possible in order to continue to attract high quality jobs.

“There is more competition than ever for inward investment and we have to ensure we make the most of the undoubted assets we have.”

As well as attracting business into the area, Wareing & Company has been active throughout the M40 corridor involved with substantial warehouse deals in Banbury and office deals in Redditch and Tamworth.

It was also instrumental in land acquisition for the new Warwickshire Justice Centre in Leamington Spa and also the development of Ryon Hill House in Stratford upon Avon comprising 90,000 sq ft of high quality offices now occupied by NFU.

Wareing set up a Leamington office for national firm Oliver Liggins in 1992 and bought it out when he set up Wareing & Company.

Director Andrew Wall has been with the company since its foundation while Mark Thompson joined as a director in 2002.

Chris Elliott, chief executive of Warwick District Council, said it was vital for any area to have active agents with a strong local and regional knowledge.

“Wareing & Company have provided an invaluable source of inward investment helping to create new jobs as well as safeguarding existing ones within the District,” he said.

“Their team have also helped secure such major public and private partnership developments such as Regent Court in Leamington Spa and the new Waitrose and Youth Centre in Kenilworth.

“The Council recognises that they and other local agents have played a significant part in our district’s commercial and economic success.”

Wareing and company have been involved in attracting the following businesses to the area:

Leamington – Travelodge, Strada, Austin Reed, Jaeger, Starbucks, Prezzo, Yotta, Animal, GAP, SpaceNK, Bank, HMV, Superdry, Jane Norman, Lidl, The Assembly, The Duke Bar, JoJo Maman Bebe, Bistro Pierre, Zizzi and Costa Coffee amongst others.
